Links Living: Jack’s Bay

This island community in the Bahamas offers elegant, family-sized residences, ocean views, and courses by two of golf’s biggest legends

In the sun-soaked Caribbean, where stunning seascapes and lush landscapes abound, Eleuthera Island is celebrated for its captivating beauty, crystal-clear waters, and authentic Bahamian way of life. Add in pink-sand beaches, mangrove forests rich with marine life, and quaint villages steeped in history, and you have one of the world’s most sought-after destinations. The 1,200-acre community of Jack’s Bay stretches along four miles of the island’s picturesque shores, offering an inspired fusion of luxury and laid-back island charm.

“From our breathtaking oceanfront setting to world-class golf experiences, every detail has been thoughtfully crafted to create a place where families can connect, dream, and grow,” says the community’s CEO, Tommy Turnquest. “Jack’s Bay is a rare blend of refined luxury and relaxed island living.”

Rare, indeed. Jack’s Bay will be home to the first-ever 18-hole Jack Nicklaus Heritage Golf Course (set to debut at the end of the year) and the already open Tiger Woods 10-hole Playground Course. The Nicklaus layout takes advantage of the island’s dramatic elevation changes and mesmerizing views of the Atlantic Ocean. Woods’s TGR Design 10-hole Playground Course may be short on holes, but it is long on fun: No one will mind if you kick off your shoes and play it barefoot.

The latest residential offering at Jack’s Bay raises the bar on luxury living. Its Playground Residences are nestled between the two courses (no other homes at Jack’s Bay can claim that), each a luxurious home base featuring private pools, expansive rooftop terraces, and seamless indoor-outdoor living spaces.

But more than just luxurious homes in a premier location, Jack’s Bay is a community designed to foster connection and a life well-lived. There are secluded cave systems and pristine blue holes to explore, a hidden sea turtle sanctuary, a private meditation lake, and access to a private island for family excursions. Hiking and biking trails await exploration, while water enthusiasts can enjoy kayaking, paddleboarding, and world-class fishing. Residents can also take advantage of the community’s private beach club (and social hub), The Atlantic Clubhouse, offering fine dining, a pool, fitness center, and market, and a forthcoming Sports Pavilion with racquet sports, amenity fields, and more.

Despite its remote feel, Jack’s Bay is easily accessible from South Florida (just a 60-minute flight), making it an ideal destination for those with the means looking to own a piece of paradise the whole family can enjoy—with or without shoes.
