NaukaRiviera Nayarit, Mexico

Tom Fazio’s 18-hole design at the private club community of Nauka on Mexico’s Pacific coast celebrates its official opening in October. Showcasing three oceanfront holes on a seven-mile strip of untouched coastline, Fazio’s championship course offers five sets of tees and stretches more than 7,500 yards between the Riviera Nayarit’s old-growth tropical jungle and the ocean, while Nauka’s “Booby Trap” 9-hole short course, also from Fazio Design, will further cater to golfers of all abilities. Additional amenities at the 800-acre community—anchored by Siari, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve with 34 turnkey residences starting at $7 million—include a private airport, 400-slip deepwater marina and yacht club, Nauka Beach Club with a 197-foot beachfront infinity pool, racquet club, wellness and regeneration programs, and LIFE Adventure Center with a plethora of water toys and expert instructors.

The Hills Luxury Golf EstateHarare, Zimbabwe

A new 18-hole course from native Zimbabwean architect and former European Tour player Peter Matkovich will be the centerpiece of an 862-home, mixed-use luxury estate in the country’s capital city, according to Golf Course Architecture. Matkovich’s design will be a complete reimagining of the course formerly known as Warren Hills Golf Club, with overall changes to the layout including routing, greens, and hazards. The project—a partnership between WestProp Holdings and the City of Harare—is anticipated to cost approximately $280 million, with an eye to opening the golf course in December 2026.

Ambush at MarcellaPark City, Utah

A second 18-hole course, designed by King Collins Dormer, is in the works at Utah private club community Marcella. The Ambush course will complement the 18-hole Skyline layout, a Tiger Woods design that is nearing completion and may have a section of holes ready for preview play by the end of 2026. Ambush will start and finish along a mile-long protected ridgeline, offering a diverse mix of environments including holes along a cliff-edge and through an Aspen-lined valley. Along with golf, Marcella will entertain members with ski facilities and a private 65-acre community park featuring a short course from Woods’s TGR Design, Racquet Club, Family Activity Center, Tranquility Pond, and more.

Fenmoor at Reynolds Lake OconeeGreensboro, Ga.

The eighth golf course at Reynolds Lake Oconee, the central Georgia resort community, is anticipated to open in the fall of 2026. Fenmoor Golf Club will comprise an 18-hole design from Steve Smyers and a new clubhouse from BLUR Workshop. Fenmoor will be the third members-only course at Reynolds alongside the Creek Club and Richland, the latter having opened in 2024. “We’re very fortunate to have a piece of property this diverse, with the movement of the land—gentle rolls, swales, valleys, hummocks, mounds, and ravines—combined with the presence of water running through it,” says Smyers. “This site allows us to create a course with a distinct look and feel unlike any other at Reynolds Lake Oconee.”

Wee Course at Harbor ShoresBenton Harbor, Mich.

In June, Michigan’s Harbor Shores Resort broke ground on a new 9-hole, Colin Montgomerie-designed pitch-and-putt course and an 18-hole Himalayas-inspired putting course. Set on five acres next to the villas along the first hole of the club’s 18-hole Jack Nicklaus Signature Design—six-time host of the Senior PGA Championship since 2012—the Wee Course will open for limited preview play this fall featuring nine holes 60 yards or shorter and modeled on the most iconic holes on the Nicklaus layout. “From my personal experience around the world and especially in Scotland, short wee courses can bring together communities and form a foundation for the whole area,” says Montgomerie, a two-time Senior PGA champion who won at Harbor Shores in 2014.
