In 2019, Pebble Beach Golf Links will celebrate its 100th birthday and host its sixth U.S. Open. To commemorate these milestones, each issue of LINKS Magazine and LINKSdigital between now and then will tell the unique story that is Pebble Beach. Those articles will also be shared here on our website.
Justifiably famous for its collection of golf courses, Pebble Beach Resorts is also renowned for the variety and quality of its accommodations. As part of the preparations for its upcoming 100th anniversary and 2019 U.S. Open Championship, Pebble Beach Resorts has added a new complex and is upgrading guest rooms and public spaces, getting ready for a new century of comfort, convenience, and world-class service.
The Lodge
All the guest rooms at The Lodge are renovated, including new furnishings and accessories, substantial bathroom upgrades, a signature fireplace wall, and the addition of air conditioning and new technology, with many also acquiring larger oceanfront windows, patios, and decks.
There is also an entirely new option for guest stays. The recently opened Fairway One at The Lodge offers a choice of venues for visitors desiring a greater sense of privacy and personalized service. Three two-story buildings located along the left side of the first hole of Pebble Beach Golf Links are comprised of 30 oversized guest rooms with unparalleled ocean and golf course views, while two adjacent stand-alone Fairway One Cottages—one named for Clint Eastwood, the other for Arnold Palmer—each feature four individual guest rooms and a 1,000-square-foot living room.
Cottage interiors are elegantly designed with a wood-beam ceiling, stacked-stone fireplace, large-screen televisions, and a wet bar, along with an outdoor terrace and fire pit. The cottages are perfect for families, golf buddy trips, weddings, or small business groups, especially thanks to the adjacent Fairway One Meeting Facility, a versatile space with a choice of rooms and set-ups to handle up to 225 guests.
The Inn at Spanish Bay
Reflecting its location along some of the most beautiful seaside in the country, The Inn is redesigning all of its guest rooms with a contemporary “California Coastal” look that features marble fireplaces and bigger windows to enhance the views. Other upgrades include new furniture, a new built-in minibar and desk area, air conditioning, and state-of-the-art technology such as 55-inch high-definition televisions and new lighting and energy-management systems.
Casa Palmero
About to celebrate its own 20th anniversary in 2019, Casa Palmero—the intimate, Mediterranean-style retreat along the first and second fairways of Pebble Beach Golf Links—has undergone a guest-room refreshment that builds on the existing palette of earth tones and deep, rich colors. New fabrics and patterns have been brought into play, along with new technology throughout its 24 rooms and suites. Guest rooms feature a 55-inch hi-def television and gas fireplace along with an oversized soaking tub; some rooms boast a private hot tub on the patio.
Certain elements of the Casa Palmero experience will not change: Guests can always call on a complimentary personal coordinator to help them fully enjoy all of the Pebble Beach amenities, and a generous breakfast basket still arrives at their door each morning.
