It’s not too early to sign up for the sixth annual World’s Largest Golf Outing, which will be held on August 1 at more than 150 courses across the U.S.
Besides the chance to play at some great courses, participating in the outing—which last year welcomed 12,397 golfers to 132 sites in 28 states—means you’ll be helping Fisher House Foundation, the international non-profit that provides free, temporary lodging for families to be near loved ones receiving medical care at major military and Veterans Administration medical centers.
More than $1 million was raised last year, when 567 wounded warriors also teed it up. “One team playing in the World’s Largest Golf Outing can provide one veteran’s family nearly one week’s refuge at a Fisher House,” said Ken Fisher, Chairman/CEO of the foundation. “Family is essential in a veteran’s recovery process, and many times their love is the best medicine.”
All registered golfers are entered into a drawing for a grand prize, while other prizes can be won by teams with the highest contribution levels and the best scores. You don’t have to play to participate: Donations can be made at the outing’s website.
