With Marc Leishman’s win on Sunday at the BMW Championship, the top 30 in the FedEx Cup standings are now headed to East Lake for the Tour Championship.
While all 30 golfers have a mathematical chance at winning the FedEx Cup Playoffs, and the $10 million bonus that comes with it, the top 5 in the standings control their destiny. A win at the Tour Championship means winning the FedEx Cup.
While there can only be one winner of the Tour Championship and subsequent FedEx Cup, all 30 golfers are automatically qualified for next year’s Masters, U.S. Open, and Open Championship by virtue of their trip to the Tour Championship.
