The Dunvegan Hotel in St. Andrews Has Sold

After a six-month marketing period, the famous Dunvegan Hotel in St. Andrews, Scotland has sold. Owners Jack and Sheena Willoughby have owned the pub next to the St. Andrews Old Course for the last 23 years, and The Scotsman reported that Forth Bridge Capital, a consortium of self-purported golf enthusiasts from Canada and the U.S., has purchased the hotel.

“Having been owners for the past 23 years, it’s obviously a bittersweet time for us hence we were always hoping to find buyers of a like-minded nature to ourselves to take the Dunvegan into its next era,” said the Willoughbys to The Scotsman. “There is no doubt we have accomplished this goal as the new owners are all golfers and are well known to us and to the Dunvegan.”

The Dunvegan is one of the most memorable and famous 19th holes in golf and we look forward to seeing how it evolves in the coming years. Have you been to the Dunvegan before? Tell us about the experience in the comments below!
