Everyone knows TPC Sawgrass, host of this month’s Players Championship, is a terrific golf resort with one of the country’s top courses. But did you know it also has a private-club component that offers a number of benefits for being part of the TPC Network—including playing privileges at the 18 private TPC clubs (soon to be 19 when TPC Colorado opens next year)? Along with Sawgrass, the four other resort/daily-fee facilities that grant private-club access with membership are TPC San Antonio, TPC Tampa Bay, TPC Cartagena, and TPC Dorado Beach.
The TPC courses are not just for the Tour pros. As part of the TPC Passport Program, members get unlimited play on a great hometown course, as well as access to all the other private clubs in the network and courses in the collections of Heritage Golf Group and Pacific Links International—great layouts such as Dove Canyon in Southern California and Le Golf National near Paris, France—more than 100 properties worldwide. All you pay is the cart fee after making a tee time through a call center or online.
“If you’re a member at TPC Potomac and you have meetings in Atlanta, you can play TPC Surgarloaf for just the cart fee,” says Jim Triola, COO of Golf Course Properties for the Tour. “If you have business in Atlanta, you could take guests and entertain them there. We try to make it as easy as we can for members through the call center so they don’t have to get in touch with the club.”
Although private-club members are limited to a total of six reciprocal visits a year in the TPC Network, they also can get up to 50 percent off posted green fees at resort and daily-fee courses, complimentary club rentals, and other discounts, including travel packages through PGA Tour Golf Vacations.
Five of the network’s daily fee/resort courses—Deere Run, Las Vegas, Louisiana, Sawgrass, and Scottsdale—also offer an Annual Pass Program that gives players at those clubs access to preferred tee-time reservations and pricing, practice facilities, locker rooms, and other amenities. The price varies by market, but at TPC Louisiana, for instance, the $2,800 Annual Pass gives you unlimited play there with only a cart charge of $18, complimentary range balls, and access to a members-only practice facility, among other benefits.
“The TPC brand grew out of the PGA Tour,” says Triola. “What the PGA Tour represents is the best in golf—the best players in the world, the best course conditions and design, and the best service levels so our players, members, and guests have the best experience possible.”
