This all-season Utah retreat offers striking mountain scenery, world-class golf, and a rare sense of community
In a region known for alpine beauty and luxury enclaves, Red Ledges stands out by prioritizing something rarer: meaningful connection. “People come for the amenities and scenery,” says General Manager John Johnson, “but they stay because of the relationships they build here.”
Just 45 minutes southeast of Salt Lake City, and minutes from Deer Valley®, this private Heber Valley community blends thoughtful design, year-round recreation, and a genuine sense of belonging into one remarkable mountain lifestyle.
What began as a shared vision between two businessmen with deep ties to Utah has grown into one of the Park City region’s most successful destination clubs. But Red Ledges is not resting on accolades or natural scenery. Its focus today is experience—how members live, connect, and build their lives in this rugged alpine setting.
A big part of that comes from design. Homes are carefully positioned to preserve views and privacy. Architecture is restrained, respectful of the landscape.

But it’s what happens outside the home that truly defines the place. A Jack Nicklaus Signature Course known for its elevation changes and expansive views anchors the golf offerings. Nicklaus also designed his first-ever 12-hole Golf Park here—a shorter, more approachable layout that’s become a social hub as much as a playing ground. “I play it barefoot with my dog,” says Mitchel Burns, a founding team member at Red Ledges. “It’s where everyone feels welcome.”
Programming is constant, but not overwhelming. From tennis clinics and wellness workshops to equestrian outings and summer concerts, the calendar is designed to bring members together. That intentional sense of community is what residents mention most often when asked what sets Red Ledges apart.
There’s also momentum. A new Wellness Center opened in 2023. Indoor tennis and pickleball are on the way. And with Deer Valley’s new terrain expansion taking shape, the club’s private ski-in/ski-out access will soon connect to even more powder days.
For those who arrive expecting a typical luxury golf community, Red Ledges offers something quieter and more personal. It’s a place designed not just for recreation, but for belonging.
