The Cabot Collection’s first U.S. property invites its residents to live in a resplendent natural setting on Florida’s Nature Coast
Enveloped by state forests and Wildlife Management Areas, Cabot Citrus Farms bursts onto the golf residential scene showcasing four new courses (56 total holes), refined amenities, a charming central village, and more, with easy access to nearby attractions in both Tampa and Orlando.
Transformed from the former World Woods Golf Club, the site’s previous 36 holes were completely reimagined, with the grounds for golf expanded into two 18-hole courses, two short courses, a 1.5-acre night-lit putting course, and a double-ended driving range. Kyle Franz’s 18-hole Karoo layout plays over rugged terrain with broad swaths of exposed sand and bold green contours, while The Roost, an 18-hole collaboration of Franz, Mike Nuzzo, and Ran Morrissett, offers surprising elevation change and wide fairways lined with flowering dogwoods and moss-draped oaks. Nuzzo’s innovative short designs are set side-by-side across 100 acres: The Squeeze, with 9 holes ranging from 100 to 550 yards, takes inspiration from the world’s great short par fours; The Wedge, with 11 par-three holes, has the property’s most dramatic design features, and is equipped with lights for night play. Karoo, The Squeeze, and The Wedge opened for preview play in January, while The Roost will begin welcoming its first players in April.
The Village serves as the community’s social hub, with an assortment of farm-to-table dining options from food trucks to The Grange Hall, specialty retail shops, communal firepits, and The Pantry general store, all within easy walking distance. Also centrally located at Cabot Citrus Farms are its resort-style activity centers, including a pool center, wellness facilities, shooting range, racquet club, and more.
Just outside the friendly confines, the spoils afforded to residents are multiplied. Short drives lead to majestic nature trails for hiking or biking at next-door Withlacoochee State Forest; the natural springs and manatee shelters of Crystal River National Wildlife Refuge; or first-rate beaches and fishing expeditions on the Gulf of Mexico.
Ahead of its fall 2024 grand opening, the rare first ownership opportunities at The Cottages consist of 36 elegant two- and four-bedroom residences built in classic Floridian architectural styles and designed for supreme comfort, with options fronting Main Street, golf course, or wide-open space becoming available in late February starting at $1.79 million. A second real estate phase, including five Fairway Homes, is set to follow.
