Final 25 Earn PGA Tour Cards

Thanks to weather that came through the Jacksonville area on Sunday, the final round of the Web.com Tour Tour Championship was delayed until Monday. As a result, the handing out of the final 25 PGA Tour cards for the upcoming season was also backed up a day.

Jonathan Byrd won the event by four strokes, clinching his Tour card, but like it is on the PGA Tour as the year comes to an end, the real excitement came in the battle for the final spots.

Five guys in total played their way inside the top 25 this week, earning their PGA Tour cards for the 2017-2018 season. Seamus Power, Steve Wheatcroft, Chad Collins, Tom Hoge, and Byrd were all on the outside looking in heading to the Tour Championship but now have playing privileges on the big Tour this upcoming season.

With five guys playing their way in, five guys found themselves wondering what if as they will battle another season on the Web.com Tour. Adam Svensson was the bubble boy, missing out his Tour card by $2,688. Also on the outside looking in was Ryo Ishikawa, Cameron Percy, Matthew Southgate (who was hit with a 4 shot penalty last week for an errant leaf), Roberto Castro, and Matt Harmon. Harmon, who battled his way into the top 25 heading into Monday, bogeyed 13, missed a 3 1/2-footer for birdie on 17 and then three-putted from long range on 18 for another bogey to fall out of the top 25.

Former U.S. Amateur champion Peter Uihilein finished first on the Finals money list, giving him fully exempt status in his first full season on the PGA Tour.
