A plane crash yesterday in Melbourne, Australia was carrying a pilot and four American golfers en route to King Island, Australia. As reported by news.com.au, the four golfers were from the greater Austin, Texas area and were on the golf trip of a lifetime, playing the best of Melbourne and prior to Australia, the best of New Zealand.
It is thought that one of the Beechcraft Super King aircraft’s engines failed shortly after takeoff, causing the fatal crash into a shopping mall, which was closed at the time. The crash was the worst civil aviation disaster in Victoria in 30 years, according to a statement from Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews.
LINKS extends its condolences to the families of everyone involved in the tragedy.
