2017 New Year’s Resolutions That Every Golfer Can Follow

As we turn the calendar to 2017 it’s time once again for the dreaded New Year’s Resolution. You know, when you say stuff like “this is the year I go to the gym every day,” only to last a week or so. Well, have no fear. Here are some New Year’s Resolutions that you can actually keep this year, and have fun doing it!

Play more golf – We will keep this one simple, just get out on the course more. Are you someone that plays once a week? Once a month? Only when your buddy is passing through town? Make a point to play golf more in the new year. If that means squeezing a quick nine in after work before it gets too dark, go for it! Trust me, playing more golf will lead to more happiness in the New Year.

Lower Your Score – One of the benefits of playing more often is that you will notice your game improving. What golfer out there doesn’t want to shave a few strokes off their scores and handicaps? Make it a goal this year to shave strokes off your game. Have a number in mind and go after it. For some it might be to simply shave a stroke a round. For others it might be to finally reach scratch golfer status. Whatever it is, make it your goal and go after it.

Finally Get a Hole-In-One – For those of you that have already gotten a hole-in-one in your golfing careers I would just like to say I, and everyone still waiting for our first, secretly hate you (joking). For the rest of us, let’s see if we can finally get our first in 2017! This resolution is a lot more difficult than the other two, but hey, it will be worth it in the end.

Stick to those resolutions in 2017, and you will have a fun and successful year on the golf course. Happy New Year to everyone, and hit ‘em straight!
