Texas Tech University
Lubbock, Texas

Tom Doak broke form when he built his only college course, which was the vision of prominent alumnus Jerry Rawls. Normally known for working with the lay of the land, Doak moved 800,000 cubic yards of dirt for the 7,207-yard layout that was designed to be playable in the infamous West Texas wind. Doak and his team shaped the bunkers to resemble the eroded landforms found naturally in the area.
