Located in Austin, in the heart of the glorious Texas Hill Country, Barton Creek Resort & Spa combines impeccable service with its classic brand of Austin casual elegance set in luxurious surroundings.  Nestled within 4,000 spectacular acres, the resort offers something for everyone including 72 holes of nationally-acclaimed championship golf and is home to the renowned Chuck Cook Golf Academy, a host of recreation options, a full-service spa and superior dining experiences all just minutes from downtown Austin.

Featuring some of the most scenic greens in the state, the resort is home to the No. 1 and No. 2 rated golf courses in Texas. Some of golf’s biggest names are the visionaries behind the resort’s four 18-hole championship courses – Fazio Foothills, Fazio Canyons, Crenshaw Cliffside and Palmer Lakeside.

The Fazio Foothills course was selected as “Best of the South – Course Conditioning and Presentation” by Southern Links, the “Top 100 You Can Play 2004” by Golf Magazine and host to the Canadian Professional Golf Tour. A scenic course situated on rolling terrain and elevation, it features creeks, streams and ponds on at least seven holes. Designed by Tom Fazio and opened in 1986, the greens and courses are well bunkered and the fairways are lined with native trees. The course was renovated in 2004 to continue challenging players and evolve with the changing game of golf. Fairways and select tees were re-grassed and 200 yards were added for a total of 7,150 yards. With five different sets of tees, the Foothills caters to golfers of all abilities. (Par: 72, Yardage: 7,150, Rating/Slope: 73.5 / 128)

Selected as the No. 1 course in Texas by Travel & Leisure Golf, Fazio Canyons was also recognized as one of the top 100 Modern Courses in America by Golfweek. It features winding streams, limestone-bedded canyons and beautiful vistas of the Hill Country. Sloping greens, numerous elevation changes from tee to green, and a variety of fairway and greenside bunkers make for challenging play. The course has five sets of tees that will pose a challenge for golfers of all abilities. (Par: 72, Yardage: 7,161,Rating/Slope:
 75.4 / 138)

Crenshaw Cliffside is reminiscent of a links-style golf course with wide fairways and the opportunity to run the ball up to the green from the fairway as opposed to having to fly the ball onto the green.  Designed by Ben Crenshaw and design partner Bill Coore, the course sits on gently rolling hills, providing elevation changes and beautiful views. The greens are large and well-contoured offering a challenge for even the best putters, and the course features numerous large fairways and greenside bunkers. Water comes into play on only two of the 18 holes. (Par: 71, Yardage: 6,553, Rating/SLOPE: 71.1 / 126)

An Arnold Palmer design, Palmer Lakeside sits above Lake Travis and offers a private country club setting. The course has a variety of water features, bunkers, and elevation changes and offers breathtaking views of the Hill Country and the lake. Barton Creek Lakeside is peaceful and quiet, radiating a relaxed atmosphere. Hole 11 is consistently ranked one of the 18 Most Beautiful Holes in Texas. (Par: 71,Yardage: 6,645, Rating/Slope: 72.3 / 135)

The resort is at the forefront of state-of-the-art instructional techniques, and is home to the Chuck Cook Golf Academy, featuring ultra-modern facilities and innovative programs designed to improve all aspects of the game, all led by Cook, the instructor to four U.S. Open Champions, a U.S. Amateur Champion and five NCAA champions.

To provide the best golfing experience in the Hill Country, Barton Creek Resort & Spa introduced, in 2005, an elite caddie program to their list of golf amenities. Resort guests can reserve a caddie or forecaddie seven days a week through the Barton Creek Pro Shops.
