Located in the Lowcounty of South Carolina, the Inn at Palmetto Bluff is an exclusive 50 cottage resort with sweeping views of the May River, an 18-hole Jack Nicklaus Signature course weaving seamlessly through the natural landscape, a world-class spa, and delectable cuisine using fresh ingredients indigenous to the region. The guest cottages at Palmetto Bluff pay homage to the traditional architecture and interior design of the region without sacrificing on luxury or amenities. Each guest cottage has a private screened in porch, interiors decorated with original art, luxurious king size beds covered in crisp linens, and bathrooms appointed with the finest “tea cup” tubs and steam showers.
All guests of the Inn have access to the private May River Golf Club, which features a private clubhouse, 34 acres of practice greens, a pro shop featuring the latest goods, and the Golf Grill serving lunch daily. The Inn’s Jack Nicklaus Signature course exudes an authentic, informal ambience designed with strategy play in mind. Many of the golf holes give players options on strategies to play each green. The May River has a significant impact on the overall golf course layout with its meandering contours and beauty, making it a challenging course for the seasoned player, yet approachable for the inexperienced player.
After a round of golf, head to the Spa at Palmetto Bluff’s private peninsula for a post golf treatment. Modeled after a gracious, Southern-style manor house, the Spa has a decidedly residential feel with eight generously sized treatment rooms each with their own private veranda, outdoor soaking tub and breathtaking views. Their incredible post golf treatments include the 20th Hole, which includes a private steam with a Coastal pine body cleanse and a deep tissue massage. Also try the Rhythm and Distance massage which focuses on a Somatic hip and shoulder release to help your spinal rotation and in-turn help your golf game.
When you are not playing golf, the resort has a variety of outdoor activities such as guided nature walks, kayaking or canoeing through uninterrupted waterways, or biking through miles of trails that weave throughout acres of preserved forest. The evenings are perfect for enjoying a Mint Julep on the veranda or dining at the River House Restaurant where Bill Harris, the Inn’s Wine Manager is more than happy to help you pair a bottle of wine from the Inn’s 4,000 bottle wine cellar with one of Executive Chef Stephen Jordan’s Southern specialties which include: Low Country Seafood Stew with oysters, shrimp, scallops, and andouille sausage with potato gnocchi in a sweet corn broth; Bone-In “Cowboy” Steak with Sweet onion potato puree, garlic broccoli raab and bourbon hollandaise; Pan-Fried Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes with Flaky biscuit, crab gravy with bitter greens. The Inn at Palmetto Bluff is offering a special Couples Golf Getaway from June 1 through December 31, 2005 that includes a three-night stay in a guest cottage, daily breakfast for two, one-hour golf clinic per person with a May River Golf Club Pro, two rounds of golf per person with personal caddie and golf cart, one 60-minute post golf massage per person, and a complimentary Lowcountry Lemonade Martini and special appetizer for two, served at sunset on your private veranda the final night of your stay.
The Palmetto Couples Golf Getaway is $1480.00 per person, based on double occupancy for a three-night minimum. An upgrade to a Cottage Suite is available for an additional $200 per night. Price excludes applicable taxes and resort service fee.
