New geometry is trickling down from drivers to fairway woods. With a shape
that’s noticeably more angular than its predecessor, the 190cc Burner 3-wood is
the company’s largest steel-headed 3-wood ever—at 38mm, the face is the tallest
ever as well. The size gives the club a higher moment of inertia and lower
center of gravity for more forgiveness.
“I thought the deeper face would make
it harder to hit the ball off the turf,” says a 9. “But the ball flight was
higher than my V Steel. The extra carry is great for par 5s and long par 3s. I
think it’s time for an upgrade.”
The club also comes in a TP version, which
has a smaller head (160cc), a face angle that is more open, and a shaft that is
