This year’s model is an improvement on both fronts, in addition to an even higher moment of inertia—right up to the U.S. Golf Association limit. Although the sound at impact is much more muted, it still sounds powerful. And the black matte finish gives it a much more conventional look. It’s still not for everyone, especially if you like to work the ball. But if a straight ball is all you’re looking for (come on, who really isn’t?), this club won’t steer you wrong. “This is one of the most forgiving drivers I’ve hit,” says a 14. “It’s a great confidence builder to know the ball isn’t going to curve much.” MSRP: $479 (six lofts, 8.5–16 degrees)
