The MP-600 is a pleasant surprise for good players looking for a driver to complement Mizuno’s irons

While Mizuno’s forged irons are regarded as the industry standard, the company’s
drivers have enjoyed less widespread appeal. The manufacturer hopes to change
that by taking the “Fast Track,” a moveable-weight system in the MP-600 driver
that allows players to quickly adjust the club’s settings to one of 15
ball-flight options.
As testers tinkered with the weight using the tool that
stores in the headcover, the ball-flight changes were subtle. Regardless of
setting, the club tested well, with low spin rates. “Even with the weights in
the neutral settings,” says a 5, “I had no trouble hitting my bread-and-butter
power fade. But I also hit a couple of hooks on demand as well, which was a
pleasant surprise.”
MSRP: $480 (three lofts, 8.5–10.5
degrees)
